Presently, I am working on a commissioned Sketches.
Not my usual mode of expression but money is money.
The paintings on the site are the anti-thesis in size and feeling to a career spent as an animator
with a sharp HB pencil, during which time I won a Grammy for video directing,
(the only animator to ever have done so,) MTV Video Awards, Screen Editors Guild Awards
and nominations for BAFTA and Cable Ace.
The paintings are large, bright and colorful. Mixed media in the main, Oil, Acrylic, Gold and Silver leaves.
They explore nature, machine and time. They are large, eight and six feet usually,
an imposing presence on a wall. Each one has a flower or fruit, born from time immemorial,
but dated by an airplane, which creates a juxtaposition of size
and perspective. In addition water adds to the effect of the somewhat realistic surrealism.
There are five completed and the sixth is close, with several more already sketched
that continue to push space boundaries.
My education at college, now known as Central St. Martin’s in London,
was a mere heartbeat in a life of travel, study, reading and looking.
