In order to use this system you also need a wireless card that is compatible with 802.11 b or g. The apple brand Airport cards will work, as will Linksys brand. Others probably work but these are the ones we have tested. Install the card according to the manufacturer's instructions, then make the following changes:
Fro Winows select the wireless icon (ower right in menu bar) then choose wireless - properties - wireless networks.
Set autoconnecto to "Leoanrdo". You have to add it and make sure it is at the top of the list of servers to connect to. If there are other wireless stations in the vicinity you have to make sure "Leonardo" is at the top of the list.
Now, select "leonardo" and "properties". Set as follows:
Network authentication = Open
Data encryption = WEP
Network Key = __________________
(You get the key from us, right?)
Now, exit and save your changes. Next we will set the ethenet properties
Click the wireless icon again and select the "General" tab. Select "tcpip" and hit properties. Click "obtain ip adddress automatically" and "obtain dns server automatically". Save/exit.
Reboot the computer.
You should be online.
If there is no signal, the connection is not going to work.
Did you set the WEP correctly?
Is the signal strength adequate?
Are you getting an IP address? Open a DOS window and see if you can get one by typging:
ipconfig /renew
