Setting up GTE ADSL for Windows 95/98
Note: Your PC must be capable of accepting 10BaseT ethernet. Nearly
every bundled PC has this, but if you have a custom built PC, you may
need to purchase and install a 10BaseT network card.
Individual Plan users
When GTE is finished, they will have given you the DSL modem and a
cross-over cable that you should connect directly into your PC's 10BaseT
ethernet port.
If you would like to share your DSL connection among more than one
computer, you must hook up DSL to your local area network and to make
this work, you MUST sign up for our Static/Premium Plan. If you have,
then please see our setup instructions for Static/Premium Plan users.
Please be aware that your service with us will be subject to immediate
termination plus a $25 fee if we discover that your DSL line is utilizing
any sort of proxy server or otherwise bypassing our 1 computer limit on
dynamic DSL lines.

Outlook Express and other Microsoft products are written in the most
confusing and non-intutive way possible with the intention of increasing
Microsoft's revenue via its 900 support number. If you are determined
to use a Microsoft product, please use their 900 support number for
assistance in setting it up.
