Contacting GTE
The GTE support line for DSL is 888-391-1234. GTE Internetworking is at
877-222-2375.
Before contacting GTE, please be sure that you are having a problem that
they may be able to help with.
- If your account has not been set up or
you are having an email problem you should call Brand X.
- If your computer isn't able to download an address via dhcp, this is
something to talk to GTE about. If you don't know how to test this then
check our ADSL troubleshooting instructions at
http://www.brandx.net/help/adsl/problems/index.html
When you talk to GTE, we suggest that you as the following quetions:
- Is my line set up correctly?
- Do you see data moving on the line?
- Can you see my computer?
If GTE is having a problem they may be able to tell you. If they say
they aren't having a problem and they don't see data coming from your
computer then most of the time this means there is a bad cable
somewhere, or a bad network card. Refer to the testing instructions for
more details.
