Dialing up to Brand X Internet with Windows XP

1. Open up the Control Panel by clicking Start - Control Panel. Then open up Network Connections

2. Then click on Create a new connection. You are now in the New Connection Wizard. Click Next.

3. Choose Connect to the Internet and click Next.

4. Choose Set up my connection manually and click Next.

5. Choose Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.

6. Enter the Connection Name, in this case Brand X Internet and click Next.

7. Enter the phone number you want to use. Check our lists to make sure the number you are using is on the current list. The numbers do change from time to time. The number shown in our diagrams may not be up to date so you really want to double check the lists.

8. Enter your user name and password. Be sure to include a capital P (as shown above). For some numbers you need to add "@brandx.net" and for others not. Generally this is currently not required but it's something that will be listed on the access number list.

Click Next and finish the wizard.

9. Right click on the connection icon and choose Properties. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

10. Click Use the following DNS server addresses. Enter 207.151.16.2 as the Primary DNS server. Enter 207.151.16.3 as the Alternate DNS server.
      Click OK..

11. All done! Doubleclick the connection icon to dial-in and surf the Internet.
