Configuring PPP Dial-up Settings In OS
Apple made OS X very simple
to connect to the Internet. As we go through the setup you're only configuring
PPP Connect.
Before you start, make sure you have the following setup.
- You have activated an Internet account with us. If you have
signed up with us please have your username /password
information ready.
- You must have an active phone line plugged into your modem
which needs to be hooked up to your computer.

PPP Connect
You will need to get into the Finder
window.You can find the Finder icon
in the Dock. Simply click on the Desktop icon in the Dock
(It's the smiling Mac face.) and click
on Apps in the top.
In here you can
find the PPP Connect. Once you
find it, double click it to open it.
2 PPP Settings
When the PPP Connect panel opens up you'll
see a hand full of fields. In the Phone Number
field enter one of our local phone numbers. You can download them here. Now
in the Name field enter your username. If
you are a DSL customer your username will be DSLusername.
If you are dialing our Red Line numbers your username will be username@brandx.net.
In the Password field enter your password that you supplied when
you signed up with Brand X Internet & DSL.
For the DNS Addresses field enter these
two numbers 209.55.67.2 and 209.55.67.3
and in the Domain Name field enter Brandx.net. Click Connect. See example
image below.
3 PPP Setup Complete
Now you can connect to the Internet!
Hit the connect button and you should hear a dial tone
and then the sound of a modem connecting.
FlexPop Numbers (National Dial-Up)
More numbers are available and can be found on the FlexPop website, www.flexpop.net
1. Click on the 'Locations' option in the top menu.
2. Either click on the map to get an access number,
or enter an area code and click 'Search'.
4. Modify your dial-up connection to use the number you just obtained,
if you need help doing this, please click here.
* You will need to add "@brandx.net" to your user name. So if you
normally log in as Puser, you will log in as Puser@brandx.net
when using FlexPop numbers. The password remains the same.
