Brand X Internet: Dialup

Brand X offers high quality Internet dialup accounts at some of the best
rates in town. Each account allows for unlimited access* and includes
a free 10Mb personal web site. Each accounts includes access to all
standard Internet services including but not limited to: email, the
World Wide Web, FTP, Telnet, abilities to use online gaming networks,
newsgroups, and of course SPAM (junk email). You may read as much SPAM
as you wish, but you may not send any. (Please read our SPAM policy.) Our accounts are PPP not SLIP. Brand X
supports Macintosh, Windows 95 or 98, and most other operating systems.
*The only limitation is that you may not stay online for more than 8
hours at one time or be online for more than a total of 12 hours per day.
Occasional large downloads which exceed these limits are allowed but may
be restricted at our discretion.

Note: the following applies only to dial-up service. Brand X can
install a high-speed T1, fractional T1, HSDL or other dedicated
connection anywhere. Brand X dial-up service covers the entire coastal
area of Los Angeles down to Long Beach, nearly all of the San Fernando and
San Gabriel valleys including Hollywood, and some of the eastern
portions of Ventura County. Please note though that in all cases, it
is strictly the customer's responsibility to ascertain your telephone
company's charge for calling our numbers.
Standard Internet Dialup Service
Our Standard Internet Dialup Accounts are only $15.95 per month or
$150 per year when prepaid annually which works out to only $12.50 per month.
Brand X always maintains a high modem to user ratio.
A prepaid annual Internet accounts makes the perfect gift.

Brand X Internet's policy on SPAM
Brand X Internet does not condone the practice of spam'ing (the sending
of unwanted email). If we find anyone utilizing our network to send SPAM
(which includes collecting information in order to send SPAM, sending out
SPAM which includes a Brand X mailbox or Brand X hosted mailserver, or
sending out SPAM which advertises a site hosted on the Brand X network)
they agree to and will be billed $5.00 per email sent in addition to a
$10,000 per incident fine. In addition, we will, to the fullest extent
allowed by law, seek legal action on any individual(s), organization(s)
and or company(s) that violate this policy. Please report any violations
to Brand X Internet's Abuse Dept abuse@brandx.net.
Disclaimer regarding Internet security
It has come to the attention of Brand X Internet that one or more persons
on the Internet may not have the best of intentions as regards your
computer or the data stored on it.
Please be aware that whenever your computer is connected to the Internet
by any means, whether via a dedicated connection like a T1 line or DSL,
or via a dialup connection, your computer is connected to every other
computer on the Internet.
This means that any person that wants to do something malicious to your
computer or steal your data can do so from the Internet connected spot of
their convenience.
Brand X Internet takes no responsibility for your computer's security.
To secure your computer, please consult with a computer security
professional and/or install appropriate security software.
Oh, by the way, please don't use Brand X Internet to be malicious towards
others.
Billing & Cancellation Policy
When you sign up with Brand X by the month or by the year, you are
specifically giving Brand X Internet permission to charge your credit
card each month or each year unless you cancel pursuant to our
cancellation policy.
Brand X does not pro-rate billing periods. If you have not cancelled
with Brand X pursuant to our cancellation policy, you will be charged for
that month or that year. Quitting after the billing period has commenced
does not entitle you to any refund.
Cancellation Policy
- Brand X's billing period begins on the first of the
month. To cancel without being charged for the next billing period, you
must cancel by no later than 5pm of the last business day of the
preceding month. For example if a 30-day month has the 30th day on a
Saturday, then you must cancel by 5pm of the 29th.
- To cancel, you must do BOTH of the following: Call our main number
and give them your full name and your Brand X username and state that
you wish to cancel; AND you must either email billing@brandx.net or fax us
with this same information. (Note: if you are a DSL customer without a
username, than you must specifically state that you are cancelling a DSL
account and give the phone number of the DSL line.)
- Brand X charges a $500 fee to handle unauthorized credit card
disputes. If you wish to dispute a charge, please call, fax, and/or
email billing@brandx.net. You must allow 4 business days for a response.
To avoid any dispute about your attempt to contact us, we suggest you
postal mail a letter regarding the dispute to our address below with
return receipt.
