Pilots game films are so rare that even Major League Baseball has none in their archives. However, there is a 17 minute documentary called The First Voyage, that does an excellent job of chronicling the team's origin and also includes action filmed at Sick's Stadium and at Pilots Field in Tempe. It was meant to be the first in an annual series of highlights films, but since there was no second season, there was no second film. The First Voyage sells for $39.95, including postage and handling. It's always in stock and available from:

Ball Four: The Final Pitch If you missed Jim Bouton on his recent promotional tour, you can still get an autographed copy of Ball Four: the Final Pitch, personalized for you. This is the final update of the baseball classic that tells Jim's story as a pitcher for the Pilots. It was named one of the Top 100 books of the 20th Century.

To ensure the quality and supply of the books, Jim has established his own imprint, Bulldog Publishing and the new Bulldog Publishing versions of Ball Four: The Final Pitch can be purchased directly through his own Web site!

Angels & Pilots newspaper ad After Danrick Enterprises sold their entire archive of vintage baseball broadcasts, the only two complete, regular season Pilots broadcasts known to exist were off the market for a couple of years.

Major League Baseball has finally made these broadcasts available once more. They feature the Pilots hosting the Yankees and an away game against the Angels. Clips from both games are featured in the Radio section, but you can buy the entire games from MLB for $14.95 (cassette) or $19.95 (CD), shipping not included.

Roman Pro Pilots cap We may finally have some good news on the frequently-asked question of where to buy a Pilots cap! It used to be that the only accurate reproductions were made by Roman Pro, a company in Massachusetts that went out of business long ago. In the interm, the only new models ranged between inaccurate and wildly inaccurate. About a year ago, I received an e-mail that New Era had started making an accurate Pilots cap. The designs were accurate, but too small. A recent visit to their Web site made it appear that they have fixed problem that and the latest version is accurate.

Still, if you know of someplace that has a stash of Roman Pro models, like the one shown to the left, please let me know and I will include it here.

Old Time Baseball game The Pilots live on in a fantastic video game by Stormfront Studios, called Old Time Baseball.

The game includes every major league team from 1871 to 1981 and there are also 3-D models of 16 classic stadiums, including old Comiskey Park (the only one in the game where the Pilots actually played). Sadly, it's out of print, but you can still find a copy on the Web once in a while.
